  • Datograph Up/Down

The designation “UP/DOWN” in its name refers to an additional function: A powerreserve indicator at 6 o’clock reliably tells the owner how much of the extended 60-hour running time remains available. Only when the hand enters the red zone on the third day will it be necessary to supply the calibre L951.6 movement with fresh energy. The 24 extra power-reserve hours versus the previous model were achieved mainly with a larger mainspring barrel.

  • Grande Lange 1

Since it premiered in 1994, the LANGE 1 has been the icon of A. Lange & Söhne. With altered dimensions and a new inner life, the GRAND LANGE 1 exhibits true grandeur. A new movement developed entirely from scratch makes it possible to transpose the subtly balanced dial layout of the LANGE 1 to its larger sibling and at the same time to slim down the silhouette.

  • Lange 1 Guidance by Day and by Night: Lange 1 Time Zone in White Gold with Luminous Indications

The LANGE 1 TIME ZONE has been the perfect companion for cosmopolites and frequent flyers since 2005. In a white-gold version with luminous hands and appliques, it now offers perfect guidance through the world's 24 time zones even in the dark.

  • Horological Magnum Opus with Two Complications: Lange 1 Tourbillon Perpetual Calendar

A. Lange & Söhne’s latest masterpiece of haute horlogerie unites two classic complications with the expressive LANGE 1 style. Thanks to an ingenious arrangement of the calendar displays around the time indication, the LANGE 1 TOURBILLON PERPETUAL CALENDAR presents an abundance of information in a superbly legible layout.

  • An Elegant Addition: The Saxonia Thin in White Gold

The thinnest A. Lange & Söhne watch is now also available in white gold. To limit the calibre height to 2.9 millimetres, each part had to be reduced to its absolutely necessary dimensions. Neither as regards reliability nor with respect to perseverance: when fully wound, the watch will run for 72 hours.

Richard Lange Tourbillon "Pour le mérite"

  • Precision above all : the RICHARD LANGE TOURBILLON “Pour le Mérite”

The fourth A. Lange & Söhne timepiece honoured with the distinction “Pour le Mérite” embodies a fusée-and-chain transmission as well as a tourbillon with a patented stop-seconds mechanism. The underlying purpose shared by both of these grand complications is to improve rate stability and precision. The prominent regulator dial with its fascinating pivoting segment was inspired by a famous historic paragon.

  • 165 Years – Homage to F. A. Lange Collection

Three exceptional timepieces demonstrate the capabilities of A. Lange & Söhne With a special collection of exceptional complications, A. Lange & Söhne commemorates the spiritual legacy of the founder of Germany’s precision watchmaking industry. Presented in a novel gold alloy of hitherto unmatched hardness, the trilogy consisting of the TOURBOGRAPH “Pour le Mérite”, the LANGE 1 TOURBILLON, and the 1815 MOONPHASE manifests the horological heritage of Ferdinand Adolph Lange enriched with contemporary ingenuity and artisanal virtuosity.

The capabilities of the manufactory are expressed by all three models with a novel case metal developed exclusively for Lange. With a Vickers hardness of over 300, the 18-carat honey-coloured gold exclusively developed for Lange is about twice as hard as other gold alloys.

TOURBOGRAPH “Pour le Mérite”

In 2005, A. Lange & Söhne presented a grand complication that established a new benchmark in precision watchmaking: the TOURBOGRAPH “Pour le Mérite”. It was the first one-minute tourbillon in a wristwatch format with a fusée and-chain transmission as well as an additional rattrapante chronograph. Because of the complexity of the mechanism, it was possible to craft only one watch per month, so the last timepiece of the first partial edition of 51 platinum models was only just delivered in 2010.

LANGE 1 TOURBILLON with stop seconds

At the turn of the millennium, A. Lange & Söhne presented the LANGE 1 TOURBILLON based on the legendary LANGE 1. At that time, it was not yet possible to achieve what Lange’s calibre engineers accomplished a few years later with the CABARET TOURBILLON: to directly and instantaneously stop the balance inside the rotating tourbillon cage. With this feat, they corrected an intrinsic flaw of the tourbillon mechanism that for two hundred years was considered to be the ne plus ultra of horological sophistication. While the elaborate device elevated the rate accuracy of a watch by overcoming the effects of gravity, it could not be stopped, so the watch could not be set to the
second. Lange’s ingenious solution to the problem – the patented stop-seconds mechanism – is now integrated in the LANGE 1 TOURBILLON of the anniversary collection as well. It expresses Lange’s long-standing principle of questioning the validity of even what is already considered perfect.

1815 MOONPHASE

The 1815 MOONPHASE epitomises Lange’s unending quest for the ultimate in precision. No effort was spared to calculate an extremely accurate moon-phase train for this watch. Thanks to a suite of wheels with special transmission ratios, its error per lunar month is a nearly infinitesimal 6.61 seconds. It takes 1,058 years for this error to add up to a deviation of one day relative to the actual lunar cycle.

  • Finally Automatic as well – the LANGE 1 DAYMATIC

With a totally new self-winding movement developed from the ground up, the LANGE 1 DAYMATIC adds a further chapter to the success story of A. Lange & Söhne’s most famous timepiece family. Its discreet distinguishing feature is a mirrored dial layout. A retrograde day-of-week indication forms the perfect counterpoint to the outsize date display.

  • Saxonia Annual Calendar

Apart from the unparalleled combination of the annual calendar and Lange’s iconic outsize date, the Saxonia Annual Calendar stands out with an exceptionally precise moon-phase display and the famous self-winding SAX-0-MAT calibre with its ingenious ZERO-RESET handsetting mechanism.

  • 1815 Chronograph

It was a sensation when it premiered in 1999: with the Datograph, A. Lange & Söhne established an excellent reputation in the topmost league of chronographmaking and then systematically consolidated it with horological milestones such as the Double Split and the Datograph Perpetual. Now, the 1815 Chronograph debuts not only as a notable reinterpretation of a horological classic but also as a top-tier addition to the 1815 watch family that was relaunched just in 2009. It has a power reserve of 60 hours and a proprietary Lange balance spring.

  • Measure of All Things Time: the RICHARD LANGE “Referenzuhr”

With its ZERO-RESTART function, an innovative seconds hand resetting mechanism, the limited-edition RICHARD LANGE “Referenzuhr” enriches the line of observation watches dedicated entirely to precise time measurement.

The subsidiary seconds is resettable, by the actuation of a push piece at two o'clock. The seconds hand jumps to zero and waits there as long as the push piece is depressed. During that time, a vertical disc clutch assures that the ongoing measurement of time is not interrupted – the movement keeps running. When the push piece is released, the seconds hand restarts instantaneously.

The RICHARD LANGE “Referenzuhr” pays homage to a stronghold of time measurement that played in important role in 19th-century Dresden: the timekeeping service of the Mathematics and Physics Salon. As the “keeper of time”, this scientific institution was responsible for precisely determining the local time and making it available to the city’s population. So in a sense, it was the predecessor of present-day atomic clocks and time signal transmitters.

Limited edition of 50 watches in platinum and 75 in pink gold.

  • LANGE ZEITWERK “Luminous”

The LANGE ZEITWERK features indications of a size so far considered to be beyond feasibility, its dial always provides an unambiguous
reading of the current time. With a soft click and no perceptible delay, the display advances from one minute to the next within fractions of a second. And at the top of hour, the watch performs the big leap, when all three numerals discs jump forward by precisely one increment at the same time. Now, this exciting progression of time can be observed in the dark as well.

Coated with white Superluminova, the glowing numerals seem to float incandescently above the black background. Even at night. This is assured
by a dark-tinted sapphire-crystal glass. Its light-permeable coating allows the numerals to be charged with enough photonic energy to uniformly emit it again during the night for several hours.

Richard Lange "Pour le Mérite"

  • Precise, preciser, Richard Lange “Pour le Mérite”

The third Lange wristwatch with a fusée-and-chain transmission continues the tradition of observation watches that are fully focused on precise time measurement. This horological rarity with its three-part enamel dial has famous historic forebears. The fuséeand- chain transmission compensates for the declining spring force, keeping the effective torque constant across the entire power-reserve period. For this purpose, the drive function, usually handled by the mainspring barrel alone, is split into two components: the mainspring barrel and the adjacent taped fusée.The two components are connected by a dainty chain which in the case of the RICHARD LANGE “Pour le Mérite” consists of 636 individual parts.
