  • Girard-Perregaux 1966 Lady Moon-Phases

With its automatic calibre and harmoniously circular case, the Girard-Perregaux 1966 Lady Moon-Phases completes the collection, giving it the magic of a lunar calendar with a touch of femininity. Gold has been chosen for the precious case that presents a highly subtle decoration. The case, 36 mm in diameter, remains faithful to the great classics of watchmaking. The white mother-of-pearl dial, hand-polished to obtain greater reflection, is haloed by a bezel that
offers that which femininity holds dearest: absolute radiance. Fifty-four diamonds crown the piece, helping to create a charming constellation. At its heart there beats a manufactured mechanical movement with automatic winding. Complete with a power reserve of over 46 hours, the calibre possesses a pink gold.

  • Girard-Perregaux 1966 Minute Repeater

Its classic, elegant exterior houses one of the greatest of grandes complications: the minute repeater. The watch's special design required thorough research into acoustic qualities. In particular, the Manufacture worked on three construction points on the case. The diameter of the calibre and the interior diameter of the case are perfectly balanced, a ratio that guarantees maximum resonance. The case-back is curved in order to increase the volume of air between the movement and the case, which significantly improves the propagation of the sound. Finally, the lower part of the case-back is diamond-polished, an operation that allows acoustic interference to be reduced.

  • Laureato Tourbillon With Three Bridges

Mystery and transparency, technical and artistic genius: the three bridges adopt a classic design that highlights the beauty of the tourbillon: at 12 o'clock for the barrel bridge, in the centre for the central bridge and at 6 o'clock for the tourbillon bridge. They offer an unobstructed view of the Girard-Perregaux Manufacture mechanical movement with automatic winding. The balance spring is equipped with a Philips terminal curve; the rhodium-plated mainplate has a circular guilloché top, a circular-grained and circular guilloché underside as well as handpolished angles; the barrel has a hand-engraved circular-grained openwork cover, circulargrained underside and hand-polished angles; the gear-train bridge is ennobled with handpolished re-entrant angles, circular guilloché, hand-polished recesses and an eagle crest, the Girard-Perregaux signature. Limited edition of 10 copies, delivered with an integrated metal bracelet with H-shaped links, water-resistant to 30 metres.

  • Girard-Perregaux, Vintage 1945 Large Date Moon-Phases

The Vintage 1945 Large Date Moon-Phases perfectly embodies the spirit of the collection. All the time displays are harmoniously arranged and readable at a glance. At 12 o'clock, the instant large date displays the date on a pair of discs – one of which is transparent – in a patented system. It beats the tempo with a railway minute track that runs around the dial. The hands and applied Arabic numerals display the time with simplicity. The meticulously crafted curved hour markers are particularly delicate. Traditionally positioned at 6 o'clock, the raised moonphases indicator is presented beneath a sky of perfect clarity. Exceptionally reliable, it beats to a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour.

  • Girard-Perregaux 1966 : Small Second

A heritage of tradition – Carrying the legacy of Girard-Perregaux’s clean, refined style, the Girard-Perregaux 1966 collection embodies the Brand’s all-encompassing expertise in creating great watchmaking classics. The
latest creation in this line, the Girard-Perregaux 1966 Small Second model, with a design of the utmost purity, bears the distinctive hallmarks of a refined timepiece right down to the smallest details.

For a contemporary homage to this secular tradition, it quickly became clear that enamel was the only choice for the dial. The properties of enamel and its special component make the dial it adorns resistant, lending it depth and
a unique character.

This model beats in time to a new automatic movement, developed from the Girard-Perregaux calibre 3300.

  • Girard-Perregaux 1966 Tourbillon with gold bridge

1791-2011: The Girard-Perregaux Manufacture celebrates its 220th anniversary.

Girard-Perregaux won a gold medal at the Paris Universal Exhibition for his Tourbillon with three gold Bridges.

To mark the 220th anniversary of the Brand, Girard-Perregaux's Haute Horlogerie collection will be enhanced by a model inspired by its history and this majestic complication: the Girard-Perregaux 1966 Tourbillon with gold Bridge, expressing the essence of watchmaking tradition, available in an edition of 50 individually numbered pieces.

Tribute to the Tourbillon pocket watches

Sober and elegant, the design of this timepiece evokes that of its illustrious predecessors. The ‘Breguet’ Arabic numerals painted on the silvered dial, as well as the blued steel leaf-shaped hands, are both clear references to a time when only pocket watches existed.

Designed in the Manufacture's workshops, the case has undergone meticulous finishing operations to reveal the full brilliance of the pink gold. The case-back, closed by 6 screws, is hand-engraved to evoke the domes of Girard-Perregaux's tourbillons dating from the 19th century. Each piece bears its own individual number, also engraved by hand in keeping with the Brand's tradition.

The case houses a Girard-Perregaux 9610 movement comprising 224 components. Its refined decoration and architecture are also inspired by 19th century pocket tourbillons.

The tourbillon bridge of the new Girard-Perregaux 1966 Tourbillon has an unusual shape: known as ‘bassiné’, the two arms of the bridge are rounded off. The rounding off process consists of filing the ends of the arms to make them perfectly uniform, giving them a semi-cylindrical shape while retaining the demarcation of the centre and the heels. To finish the operation, the craftsmen use stones, buffs, boxwood and diamond pastes to smooth them to a perfectly rounded finish. The slightest imperfection can be immediately detected by the naked eye. This craftsmanship, which requires the highest level of dexterity and concentration, is a worthy heritage of the pocket Tourbillons manufactured by Constant Girard-Perregaux in the 19th century.

An incredible dexterity is required to assemble its 72 components, all of which fit into a diameter of just one centimetre. It weighs 0.3 gram - about the same as a swan's feather. Accompanying it is a self-winding system patented by the Manufacture: a small-diameter platinum oscillating weight is housed in the space below and around the barrel.

  • Vintage 1945 XXL

The Vintage 1945 collection is a modern reinterpretation of the spirit of an Art Deco-inspired model with a rectangular case.

Girard-Perregaux presents the Vintage 1945 XXL. Its generous dimensions give it a strong presence, while its curved shape makes it comfortable to wear. Just like the original model, its dial features Arabic numerals, "railway" minute track and a subtly concave small second at 6 o'clock. This pleasing symmetry, the guiding principle of Art Deco, gives the design perfect balance, lending it an understated air emphasised by the attention paid to each and every detail.

The Vintage 1945 XXL is also distinguished by its self-winding mechanism. The calibre GP3300, known for its sophistication and reliability, can be appreciated through the watch's crystal case-back, and sports traditional decorative finishes: Côtes de Genève, circular graining and blued steel screws.

  • Vintage 1945 Lady

Girard-Perregaux presents the Vintage 1945 Lady featuring a rectangular case which has been stretched widthways. This alluring development in its design lends its classical elegance a touch of modernity and originality.

Glamourous yet functional, the Vintage 1945 Lady is available in a mechanical self-winding version or a quartz version. The self-winding version is the first to be equipped with the new Girard-Perregaux calibre, the GP2700.
The Vintage 1945 Lady Automatic, with a sublime pink gold case delicately set with 70 diamonds, is available in a limited and numbered edition of 50 exclusive pieces.

  • Girard-Perregaux GP2700

Mechanical self-winding movement

The GP2700 is the latest calibre to be created by the Girard-Perregaux Manufacture, which makes it a point of honour to constantly enrich its range. With the GP2700, Girard-Perregaux presents a small, compact movement specifically designed to be fitted in ladies' watches and to satisfy the increasing interest in mechanical watches shown by women.

A few technical details:

  • A unidirectional winding rotor with non-lubricated ceramic ball bearing (zirconium oxide).
  • An instantaneous calendar.
  • The gear train (barrel and centre, third and seconds wheels) is characterised by the original solution of a double third wheel. Thanks to this system, there is no need for a large central seconds wheel, leaving more space for the barrel. At the same time, it provides three seconds display options without an additional module.
  • The balance cross-bridge provides greater precision in controlling the balance shake: a solution which boosts performance and long-term reliability and, for watchmakers, makes setting considerably easier.

  • Girard-Perregaux 1966 Perpetual Calendar

The Perpetual Calendar indicates the date, day and month, taking into account the different lengths of the months in the Gregorian calendar, including leap years. Its "mechanical memory" therefore counts 1461 days, or four years. It must only be adjusted for the exceptionnally non-leap year years, the next being 2100 and 2400. A superb example of technical watchmaking, the self-winding calibre GP033Q0 comprises 288 separate components. In a further touch of sophistication, the calibre features the Manufacture's exclusive Microvar variable inertia balance, which can be seen through the watch's transparent case-back.

This exceptional calibre is housed in an elegant 40-millimetre case. With its beautiful symmetry and perfect attention to detail, the Girard-Perregaux 1966 Perpetual Calendar exceeds the most demanding expectations in terms of watch design. On its gently domed dial, baton indexes and fine hands mark the hours, minutes and the different calendar indications.

Girard-Perregaux 1966; a collection in tribute

The Girard-Perregaux 1966 collection pays tribute to a period rich in innovations and technical advances for the Brand.

In the 1960s, Girard-Perregaux was one of the very few watchmaking Manufactures to have its own Research and Development team. This enabled the Brand to present, in 1965, the first High Frequency movement, operating at 36,000 vibrations an hour: the Gyromatic HF. Its performance in terms of accuracy was exceptional. The first models were immediately submitted to the scrutiny of the Neuchâtel Observatory, founded in 1856 to judge the chronometric performance of watch manufacturers. The result was remarkable. Girard-Perregaux was awarded certificates from the Observatory for its standard watches in competitions where previously only watches which had been specially prepared had passed the test.

The Neuchâtel State Council decided to recognise the work and developments of Girard-Perregaux in the field of chronometry by awarding the Brand the Observatory Centenary Prize in 1966.

  • Girard-Perregaux 1966 Chronograph

Girard-Perregaux's latest creation offers a stylish take on traditional watchmaking, integrating a column-wheel chronograph in an elegant case from its Girard-Perregaux 1966 collection.

  • Girard-Perregaux 1966 Full Calendar Palladium

Brought to life by its palladium case, the Girard-Perregaux 1966 Full Calendar combines the functions and style of a great watchmaking classic, reworked in a unique metal. This limited edition (199 pieces) integrates a full calendar displaying the date, day of the week, month and moon phases.

  • Girard-Perregaux 1966 Small Second Palladium

Palladium's natural brilliance underlines the purity of this Girard-Perregaux 1966 limited edition (199 pieces). Its aesthetic qualities focus on the essentials of the design: the perfection of the finishes and readability of the functions of a watchmaking classic, enriched by a remarkable metal.

  • ‘Laureato’ by Girard-Perregaux, a bold watch with a unique style

Subtly redesigned and equipped with a new quartz movement with outstanding finishes, this limited edition ‘Laureato’ brings together two areas of Girard-Perregaux's expertise: a unique style and an exceptional movement.

The story of quartz

In the 1960s, Girard-Perregaux was one of the few brands to have its own Research & Development Department. The Japanese, Americans and Swiss raced to develop applications in quartz technology, and to use them in the scaled-down dimensions required for wrist watches.
Unlike the other Swiss watchmakers, the Manufacture struck out on its own. It was then almost inconceivable for a firm to conduct its research independently. The firm created an Electronic Research Department in 1966 and developed :

  • the construction of a quartz master clock,
  • the construction of a small quartz clock,
  • the construction of a wrist watch.

Competition was also intensifying with Japanese companies, which were submitting quartz watch prototypes to the Neuchâtel Observatory.
In April 1970, Girard- Perregaux unveiled the Elcron, a quartz wrist watch featuring an 8,192 Hz quartz oscillator. The Manufacture managed to independently announce this discovery at Basel at the same time as the arrival of the CEH's watches equipped with the Beta 21. The following year it accomplished a new feat: the presentation of a second generation of Girard-Perregaux quartz watches, with the quartz oscillating for the first time at 32,768 Hz, a frequency adopted since then as a universal standard.

More than 20,000 GP350 movements were created for Girard-Perregaux and for other brands. A few years later, in 1975, the Manufacture decided to devote all its progress in the field of quartz to its latest creation: the ‘Laureato’.

  • Tourbillon with three gold bridges

The Girard-Perregaux icon is enclosed in a round case, increased to a diameter of 41 millimetres, and exudes an elegance which is at once timeless and highly contemporary. The historic architecture of the Tourbillon with three gold Bridges has been augmented for a very limited edition of only 50 pieces.

  • ww.tc Small Second

Girard-Perregaux has unveiled a new model in the ww.tc Small Second collection, marrying the brilliance of pink gold with the depth of a black dial. This exquisitely elegant interpretation emphasises the watch's clean lines while reinforcing the bold style which is the collection's signature.

  • Ladyhawke Tourbillon: when High Jewellery meets High Watchmaking

The creative partnership between Boucheron and Girard-Perregaux, initiated in 2007, presents the Ladyhawke Tourbillon. With a falcon clutching a watch powered by the Tourbillon with three gold Bridges movement, Boucheron is further strengthening its image as a jeweller specialised in watches, with animals as the focus point of its creations. With this unique piece, the House’s master craftsmen are offering lovers of rare, soulful objects a falcon fashioned from gold adorned with a plumage of precious stones. This majestic prince of the heavens, ever a loyal companion to the powerful, evokes memories of the Italian medieval legend recounted in the 1985 film Ladyhawke. A tale of love, mystery and magic, where the heroine turns falcon by day and beautiful woman by night.

The Girard-Perregaux Tourbillon with three gold Bridges movement, a prowess of technique and excellence, is something of an icon in the world of High Watchmaking. The mechanism, with its exceptional finishes, has benefited from the careful attention of master watchmakers. The Tourbillon itself consists of 72 components for a diameter of one centimetre and a total weight of 0.3 gram, and is entirely hand-decorated and assembled.
