SIHH Presentation
Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie
Representing the very core of the Foundation's event-based activities, the Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie has been taking place each spring in Geneva for the past 18 years. A private event reserved exclusively for professionals, its showcases unveil the latest innovations in technical and precious Haute Horlogerie.
The SIHH 2008 (7th-12th April) was rated highly satisfactory by all 16 exhibiting brands, with results exceeding those of 2007 and their objectives for 2008. Brands welcomed close to 14,000 visitors from around the world (8% more than in 2007), representing 2,500 of the foremost international watch and jewellery points of sale.
They were joined by 1,450 international journalists who came to discover the latest creations and collections over the 24,000 square metres of exhibition space.
Exhibiting brands: A.Lange & Söhne - Alfred Dunhill - Audemars Piguet - Baume & Mercier - Cartier - Girard-Perregaux - IWC - Jaeger-LeCoultre - JeanRichard - Montblanc - Officine Panerai - Parmigiani Fleurier - Piaget - Roger Dubuis - Vacheron Constantin - Van Cleef & Arpels
The last SIHH took place from April 7th to 12th, 2008, concomitantly with Baselworld. Certain watchmaking companies have expressed the wish to join the "Cité de la Haute Horlogerie" on this occasion. However, in view of space required for the peripheral exhibitions programmed by GENEVA PALEXPO, the number of brands exhibiting at the SIHH remained the same in 2008, with their allocated areas.
The SIHH 2009 will take place from January 19th to 24th, 2009. Indeed, in view of dates which are already confirmed for the Geneva Motor Show, and the other events programmed by GENEVA PALEXPO, the Basel and Geneva fairs cannot coincide. For this reason the SIHH has reviewed its dates.
