Fleurier Quality Foundation certification
The Fleurier Quality Foundation certification
The new luxury label, Fleurier Quality Foundation certification, is based on criteria of a very complete technical and aesthetic nature that include precision, wearing characteristics, as well as quality of manufacture and finishing of the assembled watch. It is open to all producers of high quality mechanical watches, both Swiss and European.
Created in 2001, the Fleurier Foundation is the result of a project shared by the brands of Bovet Fleurier SA, Chopard Manufacture SA, Parmigiani Fleurier SA and Vaucher Manufacture Fleurier SA. The foundation is currently considered of both public and private interest and receives the support of public bodies, such as the Swiss Confederation (SECO), the State Region and the Philippe Jéquier Foundation. This group has set as its objective the defining of a set of criteria all gathered under the same concept “Fleurier Quality Foundation,” in honour of the rich tradition of watchmaking of the Val-de-Travers region. This approach has resulted in the creation of a new label (trademark or guarantee) for very high-quality mechanical watches. The criteria for attributing the Fleurier Quality Foundation certification, comprise four major requirements:
- the official chronometer certificate from COSC
- a Chronofiable “ageing test”
- compliance with specific aesthetic criteria
- a 24-hour wearing simulation test for the watch in its final form, on a machine called the Fleuritest developed by the Foundation.
The Fleurier Quality Foundation certification, represented by the “FQF” logo therefore covers both technical criteria (precision, sturdiness, durability) and aesthetics. It is not reserved for local or even Swiss companies, but is open to all European brands offering finished products to the public. Compliance with its criteria is controlled by a technical commission that is independent of the watch brand members of the Foundation.
