THE 2ND FORUM DE LA HAUTE HORLOGERIE CONVENES

The 1st Forum de la Haute Horlogerie, reserved for the CEOs of Fine Watch companies, invited ideas on the theme, "the changing business of time." Building on this initial experience, a success as much for the quality of speakers as for the quality of attendance, the Fondation de la Haute Horlogerie (FHH) reprised the event, this time extending it to selected journalists. Thus the Foundation fulfils its objective and role to bring together the industry's major players to debate the key issues for the future, and move forward in a single, sustained manner.

As Franco Cologni, President of the FHH, declared in his opening speech, the negative economic climate of 2009, together with the brief and unexpected crisis, raised a certain number of questions which Fine Watchmaking must consider. Hence the theme of this second Forum: Time to Rethink. To reconsider the values of the profession, its strengths, its weaknesses and most importantly the future contours of luxury in general and Fine Watchmaking in particular. These texts trace the broad outlines of the day's discussions, presentations and round tables, all rich in lessons to be learned and full of promise for the future of the Forum de la Haute Horlogerie.
