Crystal systems
Crystals are divided into seven crystal systems (six for the USA) according to their optical properties and their basic crystal structure. The seven crystal systems are: cubic tetragonal, hexagonal, trigonal (these last two are merged to one in the USA), orthorhombic, monoclinic and triclinic systems.
