Pioneer in the industrialisation of clockmaking: invention of several machine-tools.

Creation of his factory in Beaucourt (territory of Belfort, France): the first to set up mechanical production of ebauches on the industrial level. His production rose from 2400 ebauches in 1780 to 12,700 in 1806.

Filing of a patent on the invention of his machine tools for 5 years.
