Father of Henri Louis Jaquet Droz.
Adopted father of Jean Frédéric Leschot.

Construction, with Henri Louis Jaquet Droz and Jean Frédéric Leschot, of several automatons including the “writer” (6,000 parts), the “lady musician” (2,500 parts) and the “draughtsman” (2,000 parts), now kept at the Museum of Art and History at Neuchâtel (Switzerland).
The first manufacturer of singing bird boxes.
Adaptation to chiming clocks and pipes.
