Timepieces from the 16th century are represented by very rare items, notably several elements from the cathedral’s first astronomic clock including its famous weather vane, reputed to be the world’s oldest automaton (circa 1350).

Of the first one, the Clock of the three Kings (1352 - 1354), only the cock remains, an anonymous masterpiece of mediaeval mechanics which was reproduced throughout Europe.

This clock, which was definitely out of working order by the end of the XVth century, was replaced by the clock of which a certain number of original elements are exhibited in the centre of the room.
