Supply Chain Director
The supply chain director has the delicate job of striking the optimal balance between market demand and production capabilities. In collaboration with the sales and production departments, he/she guarantees delivery lead times. If he/she becomes aware of a discrepancy or malfunction, it is his/her job to modify estimates in order to return the situation to normal. At the strategic level, the supply chain director also suggests improvements concerning planning and sourcing. He/she also analyses the possibilities of integrating or outsourcing activities, while assessing the efficiency and profitability of both the industrial equipment and the labour hired. A business-orientated qualification focused on organisation and forward planning, together with knowledge of the watchmaking industry are necessary for this profession. The ability to manage staff in a participative manner and according to objectives is also an advantage.
