Research and Development Director
The research and development director is at the head of a team of specialists who develop the brand’s new products. Besides project management qualities, the research and development director attentively scrutinizes changes in competitors’ designs and techniques, suggests innovations that he/she can defend and defines the course of action with the brand for the development of other models and sticks to it. He/she coordinates and plans the progress of projects, directs design choices and assists other departments when new products are produced. The research and development director has training in microtechnical engineering or industrial management that is enriched with technical knowledge about watchmaking. Timepieces and their production environment hold no secrets for this professional, who knows how to adapt to change and demonstrate pragmatism and rigour.
