Gem-Setter
(in French: [Sertisseur
>5797])
Only the gem-setter understands how to combine precious or semi-precious stones with metal in a harmonious manner. Patient and meticulous, the gem-setter knows how to give watches and jewellery that extra sparkle by inserting diamonds, rubies or emeralds. He/she coordinates the arrangement of the gems so that they reflect a maximum of light. He/she can also restore pieces where needed. The gem-setter can be trained in a workshop according a practical-based curriculum or by following a more academic curriculum in a school that issues this type of qualification.
