The jeweller knows how to enhance a stone or a set of precious stones sitting on a framework of noble metal. He/she begins by making sketches of the piece of jewellery before actually proceeding with its creation. The jeweller is often called upon to create pieces that will be produced in limited quantities or even as a unique, single creation.
