Master watchmaker – Complication watchmaker
The master watchmaker creates and occasionally assembles, mounts and, if necessary, repairs movements equipped with complications such as a tourbillon, minute repeater or perpetual calendar. In principle, he/she is personally responsible for carrying out the casing-up of the calibre and endeavours to verify the compliance of all the watch’s features. He/she is the bearer of a comprehensive watchmaking qualification which is usually complemented by training as a watch restorer. Several years of experience are crucial before aspiring to such a position, since it requires rare skills and ability.
