1856 With his wife, Marie Perregaux, founded Girard-Perregaux, a pioneer in exporting the Swiss watch to the United States.

1867 Presentation of a Tourbillon watch awarded at the World’s Fair in Paris.

1880 First major contract for 2,000 wristwatches, ordered by Emperor Wilhelm I for German naval officers.

1889 The Tourbillon with three gold bridges, now an iconic model, was awarded a gold medal at the World’s Fair in Paris.
