Clockmaker to the Navy.

Member of the Bureau des Longitudes (nominated in 1914).

Production of steel balls for pivot bearings.

1901

Creation of the Leroy 01 watch, the most complicated watch at the time (975 parts), now kept at the Time Museum in Besançon.

Functions: hours, minutes, seconds, time in 125 cities in the world, day of the week, month, year, moon phases, seasons, solstices and equinoxes, state of the sky in the 2 hemispheres, time of sunrise and sunset, great chime, chronograph. In addition, five non-watch-related functions: hygrometer, thermometer, barometer, altimeter and compass.

Winner of the Besançon Chronometric Cup.
