DeWitt's Academia Endless Drive is a reminder that classicism need not exclude fantasy, in the shape of the "endless" worm screw in the very centre of the dial. It drives the power-reserve indicator that is read in an aperture at 12 o'clock. As the mainspring uncoils and power reserve decreases, the helical worm screw slides down; when the mainspring is wound via the crown, it slides up. Hours and minutes are displayed on rotating discs at 3 and 9 o'clock. This unusual dial sits in a pink gold case with, in pure DeWitt style, imperial columns along the side.
