Cartier has chosen the formal Simplicity of the Ballon Bleu as the setting for a rare craft, which calls on the combined mastery of Etruscan granulation and enamelling. At the heart of the dial, brought to life by a stunning palette of colours, Cartier's beloved panther once again steals the limelight. The enamel is first worked in pieces or in powder form, then stretched into threads which are chiselled into tiny flakes and finally heated to form minuscule beads. Thirty firings and close to one month are required to craft this mechanical watch in yellow gold, with a 42-mm diameter. Combining the expertise of the engraver, polisher, enameller, gem-setter and watchmaker to stunning effect, Cartier proposes this watch as a limited edition of 30 pieces.
