Big Bang MECA-10 All Black
Hublot 2016
This watch will strike a special chord with anyone whose favourite childhood toy was a construction set. Inside lies HUB1201, a new mechanical calibre which Hublot designed and developed in-house. This manual-winding, skeleton movement has a ten-day power reserve, delivered by two parallel barrels. As its name suggests, the Big Bang MECA-10 is all about mechanics, and Hublot has put considerable thought into the movement architecture, with special emphasis on the power-reserve display which uses a sliding rack system. This dual indication comprises an opening at 3 o'Clock which gradually reveals a red dot during the last three days of power reserve, and a crown gear marked 0 to 10 which indicates the remaining days before rewinding. To complete the picture, the regulating organ is positioned at 7 o'clock, next to small seconds. Hublot plans to develop this movement further, with additional modules.
