Collection Villeret Tourbillon Cylindrique Pocket Watch 110 Years Edition
Montblanc 2016
Montblanc celebrates its 110th anniversary with the theme of travel, and specifically the epic journeys made in the early 1900s aboard ocean-going liners. Among its commemorative pieces is a limited edition of eight superbly crafted pocket watches. Fitted with a one-minute Tourbillon with a cylindrical balance spring, a distinction of marine chronometers, this pocket watch displays the time in three zones: local time in the centre, home time at 12 o'Clock by a fleur-de-lys hand, and world time shown by a disc that rotates around two three-dimensional globes which materialise all 24 time zones in the northern and southern hemispheres, as well as day and night hours. The decoration lavished on this exceptional piece is as one would expect: hand-engraving and Grand Feu enamel for the dial and case, and miniature painting for the globes.
