Hermès has handed the reins of its new collection to the designer Ini Archibong who, for the Galop's singular case, has taken inspiration from the bits, stirrups, harness and other equestrian equipment that are preciously conserved at the Hermès Conservatoire des Créations. The result is an aerodynamic, ergonomic watch, whose wonderful curves and light reflections transform the stirrup shape into an object of feminine refinement. So as to follow the contours of the diamond-hemmed steel case, Archibong imagined a novel dial font featuring smaller, leaner numerals at the top flowing into larger, wider numbers towards the crown, advantageously positioned at 6 o'clock. A tip of the hat to a woman's eye for detail, the "8" numeral, the symbol of infinity, becomes an inverted stirrup.
