Hermès: Harnais pocket/2008
The Harnais watch perfectly illustrates the historical expertise of the house as applied to watchmaking.
Today, Harnais is breaking free of its wristband to adopt a supple slender leather cord that can be slipped into the pocket or worn as a sautoir-type necklace. At the Hermès spring-summer 2008 fashion show, it showed up artfully tied around bag handles, an idea by Jean-Paul Gaultier. The hours, minutes and date are read off in a quick and easy sweep. Available in six colours and two materials: barenia, smooth or Epsom calfskin; or smooth alligator leather.
