The countdown function on the dial of this L'Heure Impatiente tells us that the wait is just as important as the anticipated event itself. This translates in mechanical terms as a complementary module for the H1912 calibre, one of the first two in-house calibres that Hermès presented in 2012. The greatest challenge facing Agenhor, which built the movement, was how to harness the single source of energy to operate both the countdown and the strike that announces the long-awaited moment, and produce that single chime on a circular gong with the clearest and longest sound possible. The result was well worth the wait.
