Who are we?

From the time it was invented to the present day, a rich history accompanies the mechanical watch. Since its inception in 2005, the Fondation de la Haute Horlogerie has made it its duty to safeguard these centuries of tradition. But what is the purpose of this vast expertise, if not everyone can benefit from it? Our objective is therefore to promote Fine Watchmaking worldwide, through our four missions to inform, train, recognise and organise.

In watchmaking, daring, excellence and the desire to rise to new challenges, however great, form the most solid of bonds. The same values of creativity and professionalism, transparency and outreach underpin the success of the FHH, which has the endorsement of more and more brands.

This sense of serving a wider community inspires the FHH to take action in conjunction with watchmaking's major players. Thus, the FHH supports the Responsible Jewellery Council whose Code of Practices is widely implemented across the gold and diamond supply chains. It is also actively engaged in the fight against counterfeiting, alongside the Federation of the Swiss Watch Industry and other Swiss bodies.

From the very first day, we have been careful to maintain the independence which guarantees the full legitimacy and impartiality of the action we take in Switzerland and internationally. And so we shall continue with this adventure which, I hope, will establish the Foundation as the authority for Fine Watchmaking throughout the world. As Chairwoman, I can wish for nothing more.

Chairwoman and Managing Director of the Fondation de la Haute Horlogerie

Our missions

Our mission is to promote Fine Watchmaking throughout the world.

We do this by taking action in four areas: INFORM, TRAIN, RECOGNISE and ORGANISE.

Where are we?

The Fondation de la Haute Horlogerie is based in Geneva. Its action spans the globe, and is relayed by a dozen regional delegations. This enables the Foundation to stay close to its partner-brands, major retailers, the media as well as end customers, and to promote the values it upholds.

Our audience

The Fondation de la Haute Horlogerie works alongside watchmaking's various stakeholders. Its activity encourages a pooling of ideas and involves all types of public. It acts as a reference for an audience that ranges from partner-brands to brands in the Fine Watch perimeter, collectors and the media.
