Hold a federal VET diploma (certificat fédéral de capacité - CFC) in a related subject and a federal vocational baccalaureate, or a federal PET diploma in microtechnology (ES diploma), or a high-school maturité certificate and a one-year internship.
Haute École Arc Ingénierie in Neuchâtel runs a full-time course for a microtechnology engineer with specialisms in watchmaking, industrial engineering, microtechnology and electronics engineering.
The watchmaking specialism covers the main areas of watch development in five disciplines: movement - complications - external parts - chronometry - technologies. Graduates can apply for managerial positions such as the head of a research and development studio or testing laboratory. This three-year course leads to a Bachelor of Science in Microtechnology.
