Remplacing the battery

Taking care of your watch

A battery should be replaced every 18 to 24 months (except longlife batteries).

Never leave the battery in a quartz watch that has stopped as it could "leak" and damage the movement.

A battery must be replaced by a watch professional who will use tools to:

  • Keep maximum power in the new battery by handling it with tweezers
  • Check water-resistance and replace worn gaskets
  • Avoid damaging the case back

Some watches indicate when the battery is running low: the seconds hand jumps in five-second increments.
