Altiplano Ultimate 910P
Piaget 2018
Three years after the thinnest manual-wind mechanical watch, Piaget strikes again with the Altiplano Ultimate 910P and sets a new record for thinness with this automatic watch, just 4.30mm high. Building on the same principle as the 900P concept calibre, it blurs movement and exterior by using the back of the case as the mainplate for the 219 components. Vital millimetres have been shaved from these parts, some of which are as fine as a human hair; certain wheels are a mere 0.12mm thick. The complex architecture - which reverses conventional movement construction with a peripheral oscillating weight (delivering 50 hours of power reserve) and bridges on the dial side - contributes to the unique appearance of the Altiplano Ultimate, which comes in a 41mm rose or white gold case.
