Aquaracer Professional 300
TAG Heuer 2021
Tool watches are a huge part of TAG Heuer, past and present. One of them, the Heuer Ref. 844 dive watch from 1978, became the starting point for the Aquaracer, a collection that meets all the requirements of an authentic dive watch and which this year gets a refreshed design as well as bringing new materials into the mix. This version, in a 43mm titanium case, features a twelve-sided unidirectional rotating bezel with a green ceramic insert. Fluting on the facets makes the bezel easy to grip and turn. For better legibility, the sapphire crystal incorporates a magnifier on its underside for the date. Similarly, the hour markers and hour hand are treated with green Super-LumiNova® whereas the minute hand and triangle on the bezel are coated with blue Super-LumiNova®, creating a clear distinction for easy read-off underwater. Water-resistance has been increased to a reassuring 300 metres … which doesn’t prevent this Aquaracer Professional 300 from looking the business around town thanks to design tweaks such as the shorter lugs, chamfered case edge and a rounder crown-guard. Keeping time is the Calibre 5 automatic movement.
