Since the ninteen thirties, IWC in Schaffhausen has made professional watches for pilots - and passengers - specially adapted to the particular conditions of aviation.

Military and civil aviation fleets have taken their bearings by them. Some, like the oversize Pilot's Watch from 1940 or the Mark 11 from 1948, run just as well now as they did on the first day, but most are in collectors' cabinets. They are sought after as rare objects or high quality; and so are the IWC pilot's watches of today that reliably accompany the time-Traveller anywhere.
