Cartier delights in revisiting its vast legacy of creative watch designs to reflect the spirit of the day. Since launching the Cartier Privé collection in 2015, it has reinterpreted the Crash, the Tank Cintrée and the Tonneau. This year sees the turn of the Tank Asymétrique. Imagined in 1917, the rectangular Tank broke the mould of round watches and would lend itself to multiple versions including the Tank Asymétrique, introduced in 1936. Everything on the dial has been tilted 30 degrees to the right, creating a "twisted" aesthetic that implied rethinking the design of the strap. Keeping time is the manually-wound in-house 1917 MC movement. In yellow gold in a limited edition of 100, as are the pink gold and platinum executions.
