Code 11.59 by Audemars Piguet Selfwinding Flying Tourbillon

Audemars Piguet 2019

ref. 26396BC.OO.D321CR.01
Unisex

Of the six new movements that debuted in the new Code 11.59 collection, calibre 2950 stands out for being the first movement from Audemars Piguet to feature a flying tourbillon with a central oscillating weight. This rotor has been extensively openworked to allow a clear view of the Côtes de Genève finishing on the movement. However, the real treat is on the dial side, where the tourbillon breathes, highlighted within the classically beautiful setting of a superb inky blue Grand Feu enamel dial. The unusual case construction is a hallmark of this new collection. Crafted here from white gold, it sits a thin round bezel, and a double-curved sapphire crystal, on top of a softly octagonal caseband that extends into openworked lugs. Deceptively simple, Audemars Piguet spent seven years perfecting its design.
