Defy 21 Felipe Pantone Edition

Zenith 2021

ref. 49.9008.9004/49.R782
Men's

Zenith lets Felipe Pantone loose on its Defy 21 Chronograph! After transforming the façade of the Manufacture’s main building in 2020, the Argentinean-Spanish artist now brings his singular use of light and colour into play at the heart of this 44mm model in ceramic. By exploring the principle of interference colours, the coating on the bridges reflects a gradient of metallic rainbow shades. The same technique has been used for the hour and minute hands, in the shape of lightning bolts. This play on the frequencies of light is a clever nod to the high frequency of the watch’s movement: the automatic El Primero 9004. The central chronograph hand sweeps the dial in one second to measure short intervals of 1/100th of a second. An indicator tracks the 50-hour power reserve. This supremely chromatic timepiece is made as a limited edition of 100 pieces.
