Excalibur Twofold
Roger Dubuis 2020
This year Roger Dubuis goes further in its high-tech explorations with the introduction of three world-firsts in the Excalibur Twofold. Now a signature of the brand, the double flying tourbillon takes up residence inside a 45mm case. These XXL dimensions are sculpted from an ultra-white Mineral Composite Fiber which Roger Dubuis developed in its R&D centre – known as the Q Lab in reference to the James Bond movies. Composed 99.95% of silica, this new material is shaped by a sheet moulding compound process. The second innovation to see daylight in this eight-piece limited edition is that every angle of the bridges is coated with Mineral Composite Fiber then highlighted with a lume that shines in the dark for 60% longer than standard. This capacity to light up the night continues on the wrist, courtesy of the strap in rubber that actually glows thanks to LumiSuperBiwiNova technology.
