This Freak X is the entry point to the collection, particularly given its newly more affordable price. Scaled down from 45mm to 43mm, it reprises many of the Freak's aesthetic and functional features, but does break with one iconic aspect: time is no longer set by the bezel but by the crown. The baguette movement is still a carousel that rotates on itself once every hour to indicate the time; its greater Simplicity means there are fewer wheels. Dial and hands are still conspicuous by their absence, replaced by a central bridge that acts as a minute hand and a wheel to indicate the hours. Exposed for all to see, the extra-wide balance is in silicon, with nickel flyweights and stabilising micro-blades. There are iterations in titanium, pink gold, black DLC and Carbonium, a new, super-light, sustainable material used in aeronautics.
