Laurent Ferrier's first concern in creating this minute repeater watch was that the sound should be pleasing to the ear. To achieve this, the brand chose a non-water-resistant case in steel that accentuates the chimes and produces a clear tone throughout the 17 seconds of the longest chiming sequence. For the movement, the brand has opted for a classic design incorporating a Swiss lever escapement and crafted from traditional materials. In this same classical vein, Laurent Ferrier has given the case the roundness of the pocket watches that enterprising watchmakers converted for the wrist. Specifically, this meant adapting the case of the 40mm School Piece to ensure a perfect harmony between movement and exterior. Each Galet Minute Repeater takes one month to assemble and adjust, hence only five will be made in the next two years.
