Geophysic Tourbillon Universal Time
Jaeger-LeCoultre 2017
Geophysic Tourbillon Universal Time square
Launched in 2015, the Geophysic collection inspires us
to pack a bag and set off around the world. A first ever association of an
orbital flying tourbillon with world time, the Geophysic Universal Time doesn't
require multiple stopovers to be enjoyed. Under a domed sapphire crystal, this
is a journey for the eyes as they wander over the blue lacquered guilloché dial
which contrasts with the sunburst engraved continents. And so we are treated to
a spectacular aerial view of planet earth in its perpetual revolutions, driven
by an orbital tourbillon that completes one rotation every 24 hours. This world
view is circled by an outer ring that carries the names of 24 cities. The
highly legible second time zone is easily and quickly set by the crown.
