Gravity Equal Force
Armin Strom 2020
Every watch to come out of Armin Strom must comply with a fundamental principle: to include at least one innovation. In the case of the Gravity Equal Force, this meant a constant-force movement that would maintain a regular rate. The solution lay with a declutch mechanism on the stopworks, a mechanism usually used to limit the amount of wind to the mainspring. By controlling the amount of torque to the balance, it ensures smooth and consistent power delivery. A second innovation concerns the barrel, which has been redesigned along the lines of a “motor barrel” to reduce wear and enhance efficiency. The first model in the new System 78 collection, the Gravity Equal Force comes in a stainless steel case. Dial-side, the eye is drawn to the three bridges. They were inspired by an historical pocket watch movement that became Calibre ASB19, part of the brand's determination to always move forward with innovative mechanisms.
