Back in 1976, Chopard set diamonds free with Happy Diamonds: a sprinkling of precious stones skimming the dial between two sapphire crystals with each movement of the wrist. When in 1993 Caroline Scheufele, now Chopard's co-president, combined these free-floating diamonds with steel, she broke new ground. A quarter of a century on, the Happy Sport has given rise to over a thousand different versions: some round, some square, some oval; with every lucky charm imaginable; studded with diamonds, not to mention rubies, sapphires and emeralds too. As a suitable celebration of this 25th anniversary, Chopard has given the Happy Sport its first ever in-house movement, designed by Fleurier Ebauches. It equips three anniversary models in white, pastel pink or pastel blue, with a case in steel, pink gold, or gold and steel.
