Horological Machine N°8 Can-Am
MB&F 2017
Horological Machine No8 Can-Am square
Over recent years, MB&F's Horological Machines have
memorably experimented with two architectural forms: the angular shape and
prism display of the 1970s Amida watch, and the battle-axe winding rotor that
is often centre-stage. This Horological Machine N° 8 combines the two in a
design inspired by the turbo-charged racing cars that competed in the
Canadian-American Challenge Cup (Can-Am) between 1966 and 1987. Dual optical
prisms vertically display bidirectional jumping hours and trailing minutes,
while the signature battle-axe rotor sits on top. A key feature of this design
are the polished "roll bars", borrowed from Can-Am cars, that sweep
from the front to the tapered back. MB&F proposes two versions of its
latest Machine, in white gold and titanium or pink gold and titanium.
