TAG Heuer: Monaco McQueen/1969

TAG Heuer launched a chronograph with a startling new design. Its water-resistant square case - the first in watchmaking history - houses the Chronomatic, the world’s first automatic chronograph movement with a microrotor.

Steve McQueen saw something of himself reflected in this audacious, rebellious watch and in 1970 he chose to wear it in "Le Mans", a film entirely dedicated to motor racing. The Monaco has lost none of its originality and still embodies the avant-garde spirit that inspires TAG Heuer.
