Montblanc Heritage Chronométrie ExoTourbillon Rattrapante Limited Edition 8 square
Montblanc has let nothing stand in its way to achieve
this first-ever association of its patented ExoTourbillon, debuted in 2010, and
a monopusher split-seconds chronograph. Intermediate times are recorded by
stopping the split-seconds hand while the chrono seconds hand continues to keep
track of the ongoing measurement. Revered as one of the most complex to
produce, this complication is widely appreciated for its practical
applications. Here, it combines with the ExoTourbillon, thus named because the
screwed balance is positioned outside the tourbillon cage. Isolating the
balance this way allows for a smaller cage with less mass, thereby using 30%
less energy than a conventional tourbillon. Precision is more than ever at the
heart of this watch whose aesthetic is rooted in traditional fine watchmaking
and specifically the Pythagore watch, crafted by Minerva in 1948.
