Cartier revisits the tonneau ("barrel") form, which made its first appearance in 1906, with this skeletonised rendition displaying two time zones. Crafted in platinum, it derives from the Tonneau XL dual time zone, part of the CPCP collection, which deployed two separate mechanisms. This time, one and the same movement – the manual-winding 9919 MC – provides globetrotters with all the indications they need to arrive punctually, wherever in the world they may be. The shape of the movement has been modified, aligning the wheels in the gear train to follow the curve of the case and using the bridges to create subdials for easy reading of the two time displays. Clever technical solutions combine with an elegant design for this 100-piece limited edition. Cartier has also taken functionality into account, with easy setting of the second time zone by pressing the crown at 4 o'clock.
