This Odysseus marks the debut of a sixth collection from A. Lange & Söhne; a sporting but no less elegant design that is also the Saxon brand's first steel watch in series production. The purpose-made Calibre L155.1 manufacture movement displays hours, minutes and small seconds, with day and date in outsize apertures. Coaxed into being after years of reflection, and proposed as a single version in stainless steel with a consensual 40.50mm diameter, blue dial and steel bracelet, the Odysseus is aimed at a younger, active audience with less to spend. The original Datomatic movement lives up to the usual standards of finishing and architecture one expects from Lange, with the difference of the bridge that is secured on both sides rather than the usual balance cock, secured on just one side. Boosted by a higher frequency of 28,800 vibrations/hour, the Odysseus is all set to make a name for itself in the luxury sports watch segment.
