Polaris Date
Jaeger-LeCoultre 2020
Jaeger-LeCoultre adds to its Polaris collection, reintroduced in 2018, with this Date model, a limited edition of 800 pieces. Inspired by the Polaris II from 1970, it features a hand-lacquered dial with sunray, grained and opaline finish. A central disc within the main dial creates a shimmering gradient of blue tones. This Polaris Date is easily recognisable by its elongated Arabic numerals combined with trapezoidal hour markers, swept by baton hands. Markers and hands are coated with Super-LumiNova® whose vanilla tint makes reference to the original Polaris watches. As befits a sports watch, the 42mm case is in stainless steel and water-resistant to 200 metres. A second crown operates the rotating inner bezel. The assembled watch, which is powered by Jaeger-LeCoultre's own 899A/1 automatic movement, was tested for 1,000 hours before leaving the Manufacture.
