Taking its cue from the 1968 Memovox Polaris, Jaeger-LeCoultre has imagined a new line, called simply Polaris. Of these five new watches, this one, limited to 1,000 pieces, bears the closest resemblance to the historic model. It's driven by the same calibre as the original – the 956 with a gong striking mechanism - in an updated version. The top crown is for setting the alarm, the middle crown adjusts the rotating bezel, and the bottom crown is for setting the time. The dial also nods to the 1968 original, with its vanilla-coloured Super-LumiNova, trapezoidal indexes mixed with four Arabic numerals and a triangle pointing to the alarm time. The solid caseback is engraved with a diving helmet, similar to the engraving on the back of the 1968 watch.
