The P4001 calibre retains all the characteristics of the P4000 from which it was developed: an off-centre micro-rotor, a three-day power reserve supplied by two series-linked barrels, a stop-seconds mechanism and a balance bridge with twin supports. To make this watch even more functional, Panerai has added a second time zone shown by a central hand, and a day/night indication in the small seconds subdial. Power reserve is shown on the back. With its remarkably legible dial and a case that harks back to the 1940s models that Panerai made for Italian Navy commandos, this 100-metre water-resistant watch has no end of vintage charm.
