Reverso Tribute Nonantième
Jaeger-LeCoultre 2021
Ninety years young this year, the Reverso is as fresh and alluring as ever. For this 90th anniversary, Jaeger-LeCoultre presents a 190-piece limited edition in pink gold that has all the hallmarks of the very first Reverso watches, designed in 1931 for Polo-playing officers stationed in India. Framed by its signature gadroons, the front side of the reversible case reveals a classic silver sunburst dial which, in addition to hours and minutes, carries a large date display as well as moon phases set in the subsidiary seconds. From classic to unconventional, the case back is reserved for a semi-jumping hour indication that borrows from the digital displays that were a feature of Jaeger-LeCoultre’s watches in the 1930s. Completing this tableau is a minutes disk, partly concealed by a plate that is lacquered vivid blue and sprinkled with tiny golden stars. In its centre, an applied golden sun and moon indicate day and night. The movement is the new manual-winding Calibre 826.
