Slim d'Hermès C'est la fête

Hermès 2021

Unisex

Crafted in blue and bronze tones, the Slim d’Hermès C’est la fête is yet another demonstration of Hermès’s attachment to, and mastery of, the decorative crafts (métiers d’art), on a dial depicting a grinning skeleton in top hat and tailcoat, riding a horse. The technique of paillonné enamel, where gold or silver paillons (spangles) are placed between layers of enamel to create light, transparency and relief effects, combines with miniature enamelling, where multiple coats of coloured glass powders are applied, successively dried then fired to fix the pigments and the paillons. Relief-carved in gold, the skeletons of the horseman and his mount come to life at the tip of the engraver’s burins and chisels. Framing the dial is a white gold case. The automatic movement is the ultra-thin, in-house H1950, adorned with Hermès’s signature “sprinkling of Hs” motif.
