Swiss Alp Watch Minute Repeater Tourbillon

H. Moser & Cie 2018

ref. 5901-0200
Men's

A mechanical watch that strongly resembles "that" smartwatch... H. Moser & Cie. first presented the Swiss Alp Watch in 2016 as a joke. It's now a collection with a message. As the brand says, tongue in cheek, the Swiss Alp Watch Minute Repeater Tourbillon sounds the hours, not notifications. However, humorous marketing shouldn't detract from the wealth of inventiveness and skill required to adapt a tourbillon minute repeater movement to fit a shaped case. For this, Moser called on the expertise of MHC Manufacture Hautes Complications to develop Calibre C 901, the brand's thirteenth. The gongs are not circular, as one would expect, but follow the contours of the case, whose middle has been widened to the maximum to obtain sufficient space for a large soundbox. As for the flying tourbillon, it is fitted to a ball bearing. Only five of this watch will be made, each a unique piece.
