Urwerk continues to colour outside the lines with the atypical case of the UR-105 T-Rex. A concentric ribbed pattern runs across the top, from the crown to the strap attachment, suggesting reptilian scales or even the prehistoric giants that roamed a certain Jurassic Park. From a technical perspective, T-Rex uses Urwerk's speciality of the satellite hour display. Four satellites each bearing three hour numerals pass in front of the minute rail for an intuitive read-off of time. On the reverse side, turbines regulate the winding system. They are adjusted by a lever. In the FULL position, even the slightest movement is harnessed to wind the mainspring; in the STOP position, the automatic winding mode is disabled for hand-winding by the crown; in the RED position, winding is reduced to prevent excessive tension on the mainspring.
